Having
intended to fly from Wellington to Nelson to reach South Island our flight
was cancelled on a foggy day in Wellington so we managed to get tickets
for the Interislander ferry and amend our car hire pick-up in South Island
to the ferry terminal at Picton
We
popped sea-sickness pills in the taxi on the way from the airport to the
ferry terminal but the Cook Straits were like a mill-pond...
...
and we had some delightful views as we cruised down Marlborough sound.
Even
the low cloud just added to the drama of the scenery.
Despite
the smooth crossing we were both pleased as the town of Picton came into
view.
A sister
Interislander Ferry came out of Picton as we arrived.
